Double Bass New BG Bass Lesson Series

Hi folks, I've been working on a series of video lessons for Bluegrass bass players. These videos are intended to introduce some ideas that might not be familiar to a typical 'grasser, to help them become more familiar with the instrument, and begin to learn how to play melodies on the bass. The first lesson is extremely basic, it teaches Boil 'em Cabbage Down. I thought that would be appropriate, since that's the first tune that most fiddle players learn.

I hope that it will provide the building blocks that we need to get to more sophisticated songs and tunes in the future. I'd love your feedback, positive and negative, as I continue this series. So please take a look and tell me what you think.

I really liked the video too. Great job!! I am curious as I you are just going to do bass lines for songs or are you going to some theory as well? I am an intermediate player who would like to do more than just the typical 1/5 and walk-ups. Will you have any videos that will help with playing "runs" between chord changes and other notes that work in simple I-IV-V songs besides just going 1/5 for the whole song?

Additionally, I've been playing this up an octave and it's really sweet with the bow.
