Double Bass New Bridge, luthier in Los Angeles?

Fellow db TB'ers,
I have a Fishman Full Circle installed, threads up on my Chinese carved 3/4 which sounds real thumpy, almost muddy. Need a new bridge so the pickup can be installed threads down. I'm hoping for a cleaner sound like the Underwood that I mainly use. Also guessing it would have more low end than the Underwood too.

I have narrowed the list to these:

L.A. Bass Works
World of Strings
Lemur Music

Any good experiences?

My former teacher, Terry Plumeri, apparently used Lisa Gass (213-953-5122). You can hear the results on his last album, Blue and Green:

I have heard from a few folks that she is as good as it gets. No personal experience (haven't lived in So Cal since '83, sorry).

She's terrific. You can also try Gary Chen-Stein at Stein on Vine in Hollywood.

World of Strings is also excellent.

Stein's seems to favor a growly jazz setup, while the others will set up for anything from orchestra to slap.

This is a very old thread.... but I just got my bass back from being repaired by Lisa Gass and her folks at LA Bass Works. I am delighted and overjoyed by the work and the instrument is in it's best condition ever. I endorse the shop wholeheartedly.
