New cabinet?

Hey everyone, your local Markbass fanatic here. I recently bought a Big Bang head and a 104HR cabinet, and I was curious if a 400 watt 102HF cabinet would be able to handle the 500 watts of power the head puts out. Thanks in advance!!!

The cab will handle it but if you hear your speakers farting or stressing turn down and/or check your EQ.

If you want to run them both you will need 8 ohm cabinets.

Ampegfan, how do you like your Big Bang amp? I'm just about to buy one myself. My cautious side has me reading a few more reviews & threads before I make my purchase. Are you happy with your amp?

I would not even attempt to play a gig with one 2x10. I always use a pair in a vertical stack. Trying to get a 2x10 when you are used to using a 4x10 will just lead to misery and a blown cabinet.

It's pretty awesome, the only problem I have with it (and this could just be a U.S problem) is that it crackles when not plugged into my Monster Power Pro 800.... Other than that it's incredible.

Hopefully I won't experience the crackling you report. Do you have the crackling issue with any other electronics at home, such as stereo, TV, etc.? Fortunately your Power Pro solves the problem for you.

Many TBers are singing this amp's praises. I'm expecting mine to arrive on Monday from Musicians' Friend. I saved $102.00 with a coupon on their site, which makes me happy. I also purchased a 3 year warranty from MF that will cover damage due to falls and many other situations. Actually, the coupon pays for the 3 year warranty!

I'm a long time Markbass fan, and I'm really looking forward to the Big Bang. Ultimately it has features that I like, including the headphone out with volume control, and the AUX in. I like a clean, strong signal, and I know that the Markbass EQ will give me plenty of range. My twin Markbass Traveler 151Ps are just waiting for that mini amp to wake them up and get those 15 inch woofers moving again.
