New CD Recomendations

I have some money and I am buying a few things I've been wanting/needing. If I have money left over, I was gonna spend it on new CDs from iTunes. What is some good stuff with great bass stuff. I'm looking for mellower rock, pop, classic rock, and such. I just found out about Butterfly Boucher, and she's great. That one is in my list of "to gets".

I was thinking instead of iTunes, order some actual CDs from Amazon. I know it's a bit more expensive, but I have the actual CDs. I want to get a variety of new music. I'm looking at the Best of Bowie (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...F8&coliid=I2WIF1RC97U06Q&colid=23H1GXNDH9GUY). What about for YES? I got the R30 a while back, which is a great collection of various Rush stuff. Any other things I should look into? I would like a variety of an artist in one CD of set (ie a Best of type thing).

I have a bunch of albums that I got off of iTunes that I haven't put on CDs yet, which I really should do. It just seems that I get music on iTunes, listen to it then and not very much after that. That's why I'm thinking of getting the physical CDs from Amazon. Also, do you know of any good alternatives to iTunes that are the same price or cheaper? (gotta work on Mac).

Allow me to make some suggestions:

- Death Cab for Cutie (I'd suggest their most recent album Plans for good bass stuff, I guess. Their other albums are good as well, though) - modern mellow indie-rock. i don't think it's possible for anyone to give these guys some adequate listening time and not end up liking them.
- Extreme's "Pornograffiti," funky late-80s power rock. amazingly fun album to listen to.
- If you don't have Boston's self-titled album, that should be first on the list :D
- Ah heck, I can't help it: get some Phish, either A Picture of Nectar, Billy Breathes, or Story of A Ghost.
- Getting some Yes is not a bad idea, all I ahve is Fragile and I think it's good :)
- Zeppelin II

Save some money till March or April (not sure when the release date is) and pick up The Arcade Fire's sophmore album Neon Bible. It was streamed online just recently (might still be, I'm not sure), and it's fantastic. They're from Montreal and they're awesome.

+1 for Plans, mellow and good! Great songwriting, great basslines as well, probably one of my newer faves.
