So I recently purchased my first Double Bass (long time EB player and limited DB playing in college and HS), granted maybe it wasn't the best decision on brand or what have you, but it's what I got now. I am more looking for advice on the amp/speaker end.
Bass: Engleheardt ES-1 brand new (I know..I just didn't want to sink 4-10k in a bass until I determined how much I enjoyed it)
I gig a lot and want to introduce this into my gigging as I get more familiar with technique, but amp and speaker is what I am looking at now.
I'll likely run through my LR Baggs Para Acoustic Pre, and currently have the following equipment:
Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 head
an Old heavy Peavey T-Max I break out sometimes with tube pre ss combine (with a decent PreAmp I love this old cheap heavy bastard)
Gk Backline 600
GK Fusion 550 Hybrid Bass Valve
Cabs:
410 Hartke XL
410 Neo 410 8
410 Aguilar GS 410
Combo:
couple old crappy ones
Ampeg BA 112
Anyways, I was thinking from what I've seen and experienced, I want something a little smaller on stage with me with this DB..maybe a 110, 112, or 210, 212..
I have thought about the Aguilar DB series 112 cabs
but I also have a Faital 10HP1020 sitting around in a box never opened doing nothing..so I was thinking about making a small box for it for an ultraportable 110 cab. Any thoughts from those with more experience with DB amps?
