New Duck Dunn Axe Heaven Mini '59 Precision looks pretty cool

I always thought these guys did some cool work but I love the detail given to Duck's stickers!

I've seen the The Day The Earth Stood Still many times and have the DVD. It's one of my favorite films and Duck is one of my favorite bassists. One year my son gave me a Gort statuette for my birthday.

The line Helen Benson was to (and did) say to Gort was "Klaatu barada nikto." I don't know why it's wrong on that sticker. Maybe there was a copywrite issue?

I just noticed the E and A strings on Duck's bass have a what looks like it might be a ball end slipped over the strings to act as a standoff at the ball end to move the last bit of string loop wrapping away from the E and A saddles. That's something I've also had to do to a few basses over the years.

That sticker was used as a backstage pass for a show with CCR. Duck was playing with Tony Joe White, who opened for CCR. I assume the sticker was made with little thought, and without the internet in 1971, whomever designed the sticker probably drew it all up out of his head.

Either way, these mini basses have phenomenal detail. I don't have one yet, but Jeff Dunn has sent me numerous pics, and the detail all the way around is amazing. They even replicated the back of the instrument!

Thanks for the info on the sticker. I'm a fan of the movie and I've looked for that sticker to go with the Gort figure my son gifted me and now I know why I never found it.

Didn't gtrhappy used to make different sizes for that sticker? I swear they did at one point. Weird. I also remember someone on this site had a pdf file for the exact size of that duck decal but you'd have to print it out on sticker paper on your own printer. Again, I can't remember the TB member who had it unfortunately.
