http://www.espguitars.com/news/news.html Bottom of the page, go figure... I've been considering an LTD bass for quite some time. As long as my local store has been stocking them, I haven't been able to stay away from them (if only Guitar Center...). Anyway, I checked on their site and it says that they are coming out with several new basses this year. No new shapes, looks like just higher-grade models than the ones they currently have. The only picture i found of ANY of these basses is a picture of the new AX-414 that is on their site by the announcement. So heres a list of the new basses coming out, and what i think they will be like... AX-414 Has a picture. Typical AX-style body. Looks like binding on the neck, and the tribal inlay on the AX-404 is replaced by a line, located on the fretboard and closest to the player B-414SM, B-415SM, B-416SM Same as the B-404/5/6, with spalted maple? But they already have the B-404/5/6SM basses, maybe just those with the same inlay style and neck binding I see in the picture of the AX-414 EC-414 EC-404 with the new inlay and neck binding? F-414FM and F-415FM F-404/5FM with the new inlay and neck binding? Surveyor-414 and -415 Surveyor-400/405 basses with the new inlay and neck binding? Viper-414 Viper-404 with the new inlay and neck binding? This seems like a little much for just some binding and new inlays... I'm sure theres more to these basses, maybe new woods, more available finishes, etc. I guess we'll just need to wait and find out! Anybody else psyched for these? Discuss.
Call me when the "Halibut" is available here,,, http://www.espguitars.co.jp/original/index.html I like the Japanese designs better than the North American... go figure ..
That particular bass does look interesting, indeed. However, with a MSRP of over $8000, it won't find a place in my home.
yeah, they should make some of the japanese designs available here, i agree. that vp-8 in white... i would rock that. so hard
And D series.... I just got a LTD D-5... 24 frets, rosewood fretboard, 5 piece maple/ mahogany neck thru, string thru. It's nice. And, obviously, a five string.
Wow. I know you guys like the Japanese ESPs, but feed those prices in yen into google. Warwick's prices seem like a bargain compared to these.
Geez...I hate the Japanese now http://www.espguitars.co.jp/original/index.htm All those look amazing...have you seen ESP's Edward basses? Im really GASing for the AP, Halibut, but insanely im GASing for the VP-B in snow white or cherry. Thanks THEWOLF
I have a transparent red EC I got for my birthday it sounds sweet.I mainly use it for recording because since it has sentimental value I want to keep it pristine,It rounds out my main 3 the red LTD the black jazz and the green hof plus a ever chnging roster of backup basses these 3 are keepers but now I want either a thunderbird or a iceman any suggestions??
I really wish they would bring out a B or F series 5 string with 19mm spacing. Not many of the mass produced companies do, they usually stick to 17mm for their 5's. I love my basses but would like a decently priced 'rock'or 'metal' 5 string bass with wide spacing.
There seems to be a fellow TB'er selling a Halibut model here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=510970
I couldn't care less about american ESP stuff [not necesarily made in America, but meant for these parts of the world]
Love to see a Fender Roadworn VS ESP Vintage 4 Comparison ... Don't like how ESP has "Vintage Four" on the headstock,,,, http://www.espguitars.com/basses_vintage.html
these basses are nice, the viper 414 Fm one sttod out in particular, i looked at it on the website. does any one know the price

I almost bought the EC-404 2 years ago, but the wait times from ESP were killing me, and I ended up getting Schecter Stiletto studio 4 for a ridiculous low price instead. However, after looking at the EC-414, looks like I'm gonna be buying a new bass again soon.....anybody played one, or a comparable model to give a nod about? I'm also kinda digging the the new Viper 414.
