Hey all!
I hope this finds everyone safe and healthy! I started learning guitar at the end of July of this year at the ripe old age of 47. I have really enjoyed it. I am still learning the fundamentals and can't play much but I'm in it for the long haul. So I was getting frustrated with some things and said to myself "why not pick up a bass and learn that as well so I can go back and forth with the frustration?"

So I did just that. I picked up my first bass about a week and a half ago. I think I like it more than playing guitar. Yes, it's only been a week and a half but I can just tell. I was concerned because my hands are on the smaller side, but I will adapt and I have already. I picked up the new Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass '54 in white. I LOVE IT.

I am learning with Scottsbasslessons.com and really love that as well. I look forward to learning a ton here!

I’m a veteran musician, but fairly new to TalkBass. Welcome. People here are usually helpful if you have a question.
I would also recommend to you, a learning app called Yousician. You start at whatever level you feel comfortable with, and proceed at your own pace. They teach guitar, bass, ukulele, keyboards & vocals. You can learn to read music notation and tablature, at the same time. Bass & Treble clef. You can learn scales and theory as well as popular and traditional songs. You can use it for 10 minutes a day Free until you decide if you want to subscribe.
And DO post a photo of your bass, and guitar.

My ex inlaws are from the Lancaster area. Beautiful countryside when you get away from Philly. I played a few shows with the ex's uncles around Lititz, Lebanon, etc. back in the 90s.

SWEEEEEET!!! The Paranormal 54 Jazz!!!!! In White!!!!! You, sir, MUST post some pics of that!! Looks like a real winner, and Squier makes great stuff these days that is affordable!!
I was in Philly (Main Line area) for 20 years - 74-94. Loved it and miss it still- great area!!

Oh- new guy gets the Yeungling...lots of Yeungling!!!
