New GK Neo Cabs + LH1000!!!

Hey guys!

So I just recently purchased the new Hartke LH1000!
I had bought a Genz Benz Shuttle Max 6.0 first but returned it. It just wasn't the kind of sound I was looking for.
Anyways, I threw a new Tung Sol 12ax7 in the Hartke and it's rumblin' now.

Now I'm conflicted on what cab(s) to pair up with my Hartke.

My previous choices were
Avatar Neo 212 or 410
Low Down Sound 15/10
Genz Benz Uber 212 or 410
there are others...

Now I have my eyes on the new GK Neo 212-II and GK Neo 210

I have this preconceived notion that since other amps other than gk can't use the biamp feature, that this cab naturally won't sound good with other heads.

Please reassure me.

In Conclusion,

Hartke LH 1000 + GK Neo 210 + GK Neo 212-II. It will be running at 4 ohms with the two 8 ohm cabs

or any other suggestions for my LH1000? (Not a big fan of the new hydrives. However, they are EXTREMELY well built and great sound for the price, just not my thing.)

These cabinets have the ability to run biamp with GK heads or switch to full range for other heads. They will workfine with the Hartke.

I have just bought the GK neo 210. Its loud but it is bright and plenty harsh in the mids so takes a bit of tweaking. I still will take a while before I figure it out completely but if you are looking for rumble and tubey type sound then I don't know if neo is the way to go IMO. I use a ampeg 410 HLF for gigs which I would have thought fits the tube amp profile better but I am sure someone will come along and edumacate me otherwise

I currently use 2 neo 410's and they are great. As for working with your head, they will run great, just switch them into full range mode, and then you use the attentuator dial thingy majig in the back to control the tweeter. Make sure that you use a 2 pin speakon (though technically there won't be any current flowing through the second pair) if you plan on going the speakon route.

ozrider, I agree that they are somewhat midrangey, but only compared to the heavier RBH cabs or the even heavier still HLF from Ampeg. Mind you, i can still feel it in my chest when I play with any bit of volume. The fact that they seem "bright" is great in a band setting because it really helps project the sound. Remember, don't scoop!

I'm glad i'm not the only one using two GK Neo 410s! Would love to get my hands on that Fusion of yours.

The 212 + 210 setup is killer though! I had two Neo 212s at one point and absolutely loved them.

Hey totallybacan, thanks for the suggestion.. all I am doing is scooping the mids to make is sound good to my ears. If they are midrangey wouldn't that be the solution. I want to get it as close to the HLF as I can although this may not be the best option - all help appreciated. You are right though it does have some good sound pressure when cranked. I am not unhappy about the purchase - its just in need of taming...
