My first question or recommendation
I play a musicman stingray hh 4 it's so heavy I don't want to trade or sell my bass but it's to the point where I'm going to have to
Maybe get a p bass
Music stores low ball the hell out of my bass what recommendations y'all have for me to trade or sell my bass at a price closer to what I want

When selling about all you can expect is 50% of what you paid. I normally end up keeping them as they are worth more to me than what I can get for them.

I give some away if it looks like they will have a good home.

I think you may just be finding out how much of a deal used Rays are. They regularly sell in the $900 range on the used market so a store would only offer you %50-75 of that, at best.

You could always pony up supporting membership and list your bass in the classifieds here on TB and cut out the middle man.

Dunno, where are you? You could try posting it here or eBay or craigs etc... Store's and pawn shops won't pay you anything close to what it's worth.
