I'm looking for a new rig and trouble deciding. I have a SWR Redhead and combo is a pain to get into car. So looking for a head and cab, also want to try something other than SWR want more bottom. I mainly play fingersyle Jazz, Funk, and some solo bass stuff. So want bottom, but need clairity when I do solo stuff with lots of chords. Mainly play small clubs and rehearsals.

I've been reading up on GK 800 or 1001, ThunderFunk, MesaBoogie Walkabout, Aguilar 500. I only heard sound sample of the Mesa and ThunderFunk. In samples both nice, Mesa seems to have a rounder sound.

I will get the cab later considering either a Accugroove Tri112 or Epifani UL112. Probably Epifani due to price of Accugroove.

So what do you TB'ers think??? :help:

David Eden WT550

I want to own 2 rigs at the end of the day.

The Eden WT550 and the Accugroove 110 as a nice portable mini rig

and

The Eden WT800 with the Accugroove El Whappo as a gigging rig.

I like the Eden gear, it gives that lovely warm tone that I crave.

I'd vote WT550 and Aguilar gs112! its the best setup I've had so far! (see profile of old gear)

I'm in a bit of a finacial bind right now and if I had to keep just the bare essentials I'd keep my 550, a 112 and bass. for me this would cover 95% of forseeable situations. p.s. I don't play heavy metal or bars...:eyebrow:

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

I stumbled across a good deal on a new Mesa Boogie Walkabout today so I picked it up. I'll be able to check it out first hand, if it doesn't work out I should be able to sell it for what I got it for.
