so i havent played bass in a few years and just decided i wanted to learn again so i bought a bass of my buddy that Ive played and Ive always really liked. Only problem is he bought it used a little while ago and all the labels and everything had been peeled off so he cant remember what kind of bass it is so i figured id put some pictures here to see if the experts recognize it. thanks in advance.

Looks like a old guild B-301, I see it has a Bartolini soapbar now too.

  3. Yup it's likely a late 70's 301 the 302 has two pickups...

Ampeg SVT, you beat me to it by *this much*

    I'll second the motion. It's a Guild B-301

    and Fretless.

and looks like it has flatwound strings on it (maybe... the pic is a little blurry)

wow thanks for the quick responses. it is fretless with flatwound strings.

(not like it matters much since i already own it, but just out of curiosity) does anyone know much about these basses? if theyre decent, anything you think I should know about it?

  6. It's a horrible, horrible instrument, send it to me right now for immediate disposal. :smug:

Seriously, Guild basses from that era are cool. Hang onto it even if you jones for another style/brand.
