New iPad, cognitive impairment. HELP.

My wife bought the newest ipad 9.7 for me, It came with Garage band. I have been interested in computer based recording for some time now but have been unable to learn due to said impairment. I have been poking around garage band and it actually seems fairly intuitive. Will this be an effective DAW for simple recording? Also I have a Behringer usb mixer, will this be an ok interface? Any help will be appreciated.

Yup, that's essentially the same equipment that I have. Thanks for the reply, that should get me started.
