New JBL PRX 1500watt 18" sub reviews??

Hi Folks. We have one of the older 1000w versions and its been fabulous. We're thinking its time to add another to our system and I see theres a new model out there. Doesn't appear to be crown powered like ours though. Anyone had a chance to try one of these yet. Wondering about doubling the new one up with our older one and how that might work out. We run the prx 12 tops, which we also love and they seem to have enough umph to keep up with two subs.

I don't know too much about P.A. systems, besides how to work one. I don't think 500watts is going to be much of a jump.

Doubling the wattage I think gives you +3db, and going ten times the wattage gives you +10db, but I am not super sure, so don't go off of my word alone.

you probably won't want to mismatch the power ratings much less models/brands...

the difference in the products isn't going to be huge (by the given power ratings) but certainly there will be some audible differences in it too...

i haven't heard the new prx series...yet...oneday i might be so lucky!
