New member from the Boogie Down Bronx

Hello Everyone,

I started teaching myself bass about a month and a half. Anyone who says that learning or playing the bass is easy tell them to come see me. Since I am just starting out I will tell you that I have a Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4 in translucent blue (I do not see them being sold new so if anyone can give me an idea so that I an idea how old it is - I bought it on eBay). I also have an Ibanez SR300 ROM that I purchased new and I run them both out of my Fender Rumble 30. I think that is a decent set up for a beginner but please feel free to suggest which I should turn as I become more experienced. I know that eventually I will have to seek out some formal lessons just to make sure that I am correct (or do I? I am learning Hal Leonard's Bass Method 1, 2, and 3 and they are pretty detailed). I have been unemployed for over a year and half and I really cannot afford $319.00 for lessons at this time. I have been following quite a few threads but never had anything to contribute because I am still basically a noob. If there is anything that any of you more experienced player would like for me to know, I welcome all suggestions. I think I will stop here before I give you the impression that I am long-winded (or has that ship sailed?).:bassist:
