New Music Man Bongo model? (new tuners?)

One point that I 100% disagree with you on is that the old clover leaf tuners don't look like cheap far eastern ones - all of the very cheap Fender copies and Musicman copies I've seen have a very cheap lightweight version of the classic tuner - it's only when you use them or get up close that you realise because from a distance they look more or less the same. So would you not buy a Fender/MM etc because the tuners resemble those on cheap basses?

Interesting. All of my cheaper import basses have had Y-shaped tuners or something similar. Er, aside from those on an old Cort Steinberger clone. Whoo...

Edit: it must be said, though, that I've only ever owned one Fender clone. That one also had the Y-tuners, but I see what you're saying about cheap clovers as well.

I pulled a trigger when new LW tuners were "ON", ...so I got a new Bongo 5 H Candy Red on order!

Can't wait to arrive!
