New (old in age) member.

I have been primarily a guitar player (much of it acoustic) since I began playing in 1957. I was ten years old and got a all plastic nylon string Elvis Presley guitar for Christmas. A family friend, who was a guitar player came over and showed me how to tune it and make a few chords. It came with an Elvis songbook (lyrics and chords).

I took it into my bedroom that afternoon and by that evening was able to play snd sing quite a few of those songs. Shortly after that my parents got me an actual guitar, but a very hard to play acoustic archtop. I took lessons and by Jr. High age was playing in bands. By then I had an electric guitar and amp.

in the 80’s I played mandolin and sang in a very good bluegrass band. That was great fun but was like a second job.

Retired 15 years ago (I’m 75) and since retiring have had more time to play and do home recording than I ever had before. I just love music. Glad to be here.

I have a Squire CAR VM short scale Jaguar bass and an older Rumble 15 amp that I only use for my home recordings. I am certainly not a true bass player but I have fun with it.
