Over the past 5 years I've spent countless hours here and thought for sure I'd already made an account but nope! I'm 28 years old from Toronto, Canada (not too many kilometers away from Geddy Lee) and started as a guitarist but switched to bass 4 years ago. I'm in a small local band called Every Second Tuesday who plays classic rock covers at pubs around the city. Outside the band I like to make hard rock/metal music where I play all the instruments minus the drums which I use EZDrummer.
I play a Fender Troy Sanders PJ (Mastodon's shaging amazing!) and have an Ibanez BTB805MS which sounds amazing but struggle to play live being a smaller guy. I've actually NEVER owned a real bass amp but had many pedals over the years for some saturation and amp emulation. Had a few Darkglass products but never loved them but recently fell in love with the the classic Tech 21 Sansamp sound! Got a Para Driver but may pickup a traditional V1 or V2 in the near future. Also looking at Tube DIs like the SVT-DI, demeter, Radial firefly, REDDI, etc.
