New pedal - pawn shop find

I found a good deal yesterday at a pawn shop… they had a Mesa Subway+ preamp and after trying it I picked it up for $200 - a good deal I think? No marks and looked unused other than a bit of shop dust. I will be scouring the forum here for info, but after playing with it a while I really appreciate what it has to offer… variable hpf, low and high mid sweep eq, deep and bright switches, etc. just though I’d share and see if others are still using this? Was it discontinued a couple years ago? Sounds great I think!

Nice! The controls/features look almost the same as my Mesa D-800+'s. Although of course the speakers are what contribute to the overall live sound. If it's anything like my amp's DI however, then you've got a great piece of kit right there. The DI has been fantastic into a recording board or a PA.

There's no problem leaving the Subway gear powered up.

The DI's are on the production plans, we have just been slammed building Subway amps, cabinets and guitar amps like the Mark 7 and the Mark 2C+ which is consuming all of our extra production time since they are selling way beyond what we expected. There's also a couple of new guitar amp models that have entered production, so once we get some breathing room I hope we get the opportunity to build up some more Pre-DI-s.

The DI on the D-800+ is the best I've ever had as far as a DI coming out of an amp goes. Heck the D-800+ has been the best amp I think I've ever had. You actually have to put some effort into it to get a bad sound from it.

I normally pair mine up with a 4 ohm GK Neo IV 212 solo, occasionally two 8 ohm Markbass Traveler 151P (115) cabs and once in a blue moon, both the 115 cabs and two 8 ohm Markbass Traveler 102P(210) cabs.
