I was able to try the prototype of the 500 watt version a while back. It was still in the older, larger box, but had the new B&O ICE power module they are moving to. Due to the ICE power amp running cooler than the original Powersoft class D power amps, they were able to make the boxes quite a bit smaller.
IMO, it sounded really good, but lost a little bit of the 'Puma magic' that my original Pume500 has... that super creamy, super deep voicing with the amazing hi fi top end. The good news (for some) is, they did bring in the low end a bit and the mids have the more characteristic warmth/distortion that seems to exist with all the ICE driven micro's, so the perceived volume was a bit higher than the very wide and smooth original Puma500.
For those in the US who don't want to pay the massive price for these, I was able to get my Markbass F500 to sound virtually identical to the 'new Puma500' by engaging the VPF filter (and enhance type circuit that widens the low end, attenuates the lower mids, and extends the upper treble) at around 9 o'clock... virtually identical tone.
So, in the EU, these look like they are a nice step in the right direction and should be killer. In the US, IMO there are similarly great units for a fraction of the price.
The 900 watt version seems cool, but I would want to make sure it 'stayed cool' on the gig... that is a lot of power/heat to cram into that little box with each side of the dual mono design running at 2ohms. Very little interest there for me personally.
Edit: My comments above assume that they carried through with the prototype design. This company has been a bit 'all over the board' with design updates and prototypes, so things might have changed again. The best info I have though is that the prototype I had for a few months was representative of the new models.
