new rickenbacker 4003s bass has mute issues, need some help

I just got my brand new rickenbacker 4003s today. Everything is perfect except for the mutes. The only strings that get muted are the A and D string, it does not even touch the others. Is this a common problem? How is it fixed? do you think a guitar repair store would be able to fix this?

I had to take my bridge apart and cut the pad smaller to fit the cavity better, AND re-bend the metal hoodad.

oh man that sounds like it would be expensive! i would do it myself but i really dont want to mess things up. I will definitly tell that to the guitar tech. Does it take a long time to take it apart?

Yep. Very simple DIY thing.

Late to the party but same for me with my 4003sw: A and D strings only muted. I’ll have to correct it one of these days
