NEW RIG! HELP NEEDED!

Hi, i am looking for a new rig that is powerful and within my budget of £700-£750.
I really want the best thing i can get. I want to be able to get a Chris Wolstenholme tone, but also a really nice clean vintage tone like Bernard Edwards. A rig that can get both of these would be great.
Anyone got any suggestions as i REALLY need some help!?

Do you have any specific size restrictions, amd how loud do you need to be?

Your budget is decent, if you dont have tremendous size limitations. I would look for a pair of matched used 115's, or a 215. I would plan on pairing that with a 300-500 watt amp.

Sorry yeah forgot to mention about the things it needs to stand up against.
It will be used in a band with:
1 Drummer (fairly loud)
2 Guitarists (Marshall Valve amps)
1 singer, with myself and a guitarist also on backing vocals.

i am running a fender standard p-bass

Really I would be looking at finding a used Barefaced Bass cab. A super15 and your choice of amp would make for a killer rig.

They are made in the UK so I would imagine you would have an easier time finding a used cab than I would. Something like a Compact, Super15, Big Baby, or Big Twin.

I would look and see what you have around you on the used market.

Older Peavey, GK, Trace, or ampeg gear might suit you.

vastly overpriced for what it is.

I would look at getting two GK MBX115's and a used amp. Could be done in your budget.

Thats not a bad deal. Would be worth seeing if it was loud enough for you. If not, upgrading to a more powerful amp would be a good idea.
