I'm a guitar player turned bass for an alternative/punk rock band and in looking for a rig. My budget is not large and I'm strictly looking at the used market. I've found a Peavey 410TX cab and an Acoustic B200H 200w head. The rig is about $280, is this good for the money or should I keep looking around?

As far as tight budget used... that's actually not that bad of a rig. The Peavey TX cabs are pretty robust and solid.
The Acoustic B-series heads are pretty good value on the used market for a tight budget.
Other good heads on a tight budget are GK Backline, Hartke HA series, Peavey TKO, Ampeg B-series, Carvin RL's to name a few.
Really though, you shouldn't rush into buying a bass rig on a shoestring budget. Spending a little more time with the bass and identifying what you really want can pay off in the long run, and stop you from wasting the money that's taking you time to save up.

That's not a bad price at all for the Head and the cab. I have never played through the Acoustic B200H but I have owned the Peavey 410 cab. Not a bad cab. Not going to get a lot in that price range. A decent head and cab together that is. Is it local? Can you try it out?

My budget is around $300 to $350 tops and even that's stretching it. And you're right about not wanting to rush in and get whatever its just that we have a show coming up soon. I'm using a Sterling Sub Ray 4 or something like that i don't remember the name. It's a nice active bass with a single humbucker.
It's not local unfortunately but it's from Guitar Center so I'm assuming it will work. I've also been looking at local Craigslist ads and the Facebook marketplace for some deals with little luck
Keep your eye out for Used combo amps too. I saw a couple on GC. You can get decent older powerful combo's for like150-200 bucks. I used a Yorkville 200B combo for years when I first started playing bass. It was the loudest 200 watt solid state amp I have ever owned and sounded great! it also had a ext jack so you could add another cab. I think there is one on GC now for like 150.. Also an old Peavey Tour TKO for 160.
For just starting out the rig you mentioned should work alright. You can always upgrade both pieces over time as the need comes. I have used that model of Peavey cab before, good tones and sound output and built very solid but heavy and am currently using the Acoustic B200H head, good tone controls and gets the job done.
The advantage of buying used from Guitar Center is you get 30 days to decide if you want to keep it or not and if something better comes along even at Guitar center you can return it for full price and get the better one for only the price difference (in their return time frame). Plus if it craps out you get their warranty whatever it is so you are at least covered for a short period of time if anything turns up to be not working. That Acoustic head is nothing spectacular but will function and that peavey cab is actually pretty solid and sounds decent.
