New Room - what do you do to dial it in?

Like the title says, I am playing in a new room next weekend that I have never played in before and looking for some ideas for how everyone dials in their sound during a limited sound check time.
Anyone out there have some method that works for them if you only have a short time to dial in the sound you want?????
My rig is a Carvin BX1500 running dual mono into two BR410 cabs.
Any ideas helpful, so please share your thoughts!!!

I plug my bass straight into my amp and adjust my EQ to wherever I like it (this usually only takes a few seconds, and at most, a couple of minutes) and I set the amp volume to the loudest I think I’ll ever need it and then work the volume with the volume knob on by bass guitar - and I set the amp EQ a little on the treble side so I can roll off some with the tone knob on my bass guitar. After setting it up this way I can work my tone and volume from my bass without having to go back to the amp (except for maybe a quick adjustment if needed). TIP: if the room is really live (rev) - get the whole band to play at a lower volume.

I've got the me amp and it is sometimes a daunting task to get everything set up the way I like it for a new room. Mostly because there are so many different ways to set things between the three mid controls and the graphic eq... What I usually do is keep everything on the parametric side set the way I usually use it and make minor adjustments with the graphic. Volume gets set everything I play no matter what, and I leave myself about 25% on the bass' volume knob for changes during the show...

Dealing with different rooms was more difficult when I was in high volume bands. The band I've been with the last 3 years plays at a reasonable volume, so a tweak of the bass and mids usually takes care of it. I get a tone I like onstage, go out in the audience a couple times early on to check the room sound, make minor tweaks and on we go.

Thanks guys - reason I bought my wireless was that I could go out front in sound check and hear from that perspective. I wondered if anyone else did the same. My guitarist does the same. It is a pain to run back to the amp though and then back out front. One thing I find is that my guitarist and I can talk out front about what we each hear so we can come to an agreement before we start. Saves on arguments later :).
Any more ideas out there?

If you have the flexibility in your EQ, roll back 100 to 300 Hz. Your mud frequencies are often in this area and will give some room for the kick drum.

And then boost 500 Hz, as this will help give your notes clear definition and help you be heard without turning up your volume.

Then, if you want to take it a little further, cut around 2000 Hz and knock out some of the upper mid gank.

Then, follow the EQ model of the Sadowsky preamp and boost 40 Hz and 4000 Hz slightly. :-)
