New "senior" member WITH a new bass

Greetings everyone. I'm from Canada. I'm a senior and for Christmas I decided to buy myself a bass guitar which I'm having a blast playing so far. I used the Talk Bass forum as part of my research to determine positives and negatives about which bass to buy and I ended up with a new 60's Vintera Jazz Bass in Daphne Blue with a tortoise shell pick guard. Changed it already. New strings, flatwounds, I'm old school. Still don't have a bass amp but that's ok. For now I'm just using my DAW with my headphones. Maybe down the road. Will be taking a few lessons soon so I don't develop any bad habits out of the gate. At this point in my music life, this is a good thing as my guitar playing has lacked direction, so here we go!
