New Site - Video Lessons with Janek Gwizdala

after the overwhelming response to the video podcast series I started in the beginning of December, I've spent the past few weeks filming and editing video footage, and designing and launching a site dedicated to video lessons. Members will have access to a growing archive of video lessons with a new video added every week. I'm also going to be uploading a set of 10-15 5min technique/practice routine/fundamental series of videos. Lessons throughout the site will range in level from beginner to expert. I have a forum for members to interact in, upload your own videos, and access a network of peers and musicians from around the world.

I hope you get a chance to drop in to the site and check out some free videos on the front page and investigate becoming a member.

Hello Janek, I'm currently a member on your site, I have question when will you be uploading lessons with regular standard tuning bass? i notice that some of the videos on chords and improvisation were done with your Fodera which has different tuning set up, I currently play follow your bass lessons with a regular 5 string standard tuning. Just wondering thanks,

So nice hearing you at 55Bar last month. Killing! As they say. May I tag on here, selfishly? (I have no clue how to begin to promote this thing I made.)

This is a new learning site containing 40+ short (3 – 8 minutes each) video lessons, 20 or so drum track play-alongs, a user/me dialogue forum, and a few pages of text about practicing and process. New video lessons, guided in part by user interaction, are posted weekly.

I suggest looking through the Lessons Library first. The newest videos are called ‘Subdivision Basics in 4/4...’. These are being used by my ear training, improvisation, and ensemble students this semester. There are many lessons of many levels, -for improvisers primarily, although there are many hours of work for musicians of any style. And the lesson library will continue to expand to cover time-building regardless of style.

I’m hopeful this is something that is of use to musicians in your circles. I welcome any and all feedback.
