It is a static mic (hypercardiod++)combined with a piezo and a specific preamp for the doublebass. Cyrille David the creator sell with the system a magnetic mic that can be used for very loud situation only.

The system is made to be connect directly in a PA for having all the benefit of if (or in a little amp used as a return).

The system seems to be very "like your bass" and the specific preamp help the hypercardiod mic to get a very acoustic sound and more defined (we really hear the bow and the sound of the bass). I 've not yet try the system but i'm very interested.
Thierry Barbé a well known classic doublebassist is very enthusiastic about it ; and Jean Paul Céléa a french jazz doublebassist as well.

the price of the system is 795 euros in France
