Hey all, new member here. I'm a 48 year old singer, guitar and occasional bass player, work as a music minister/worship leader at a church. I have a 15 year old son who is learning to play bass. A few years ago I bought him a short-scale Squier Jaguar Bass, and for the money, it has a great tone. But, at 15, my boy is now 6'3" with long arms and pretty good sized hands, so I decided it was time for a long scale as well. My local music store just got this Squier Classic Vibe 50's P-bass and my son just went straight to it. He played others but just kept coming back to this one. He liked the slightly fuller neck profile. I've been a fan of the CV series, I have one of the original Classic Vibe Teles that is a great guitar for the money. Anyway, here are a couple of pics along with the Jag bass and his Fender Rumble amp. Anyone else play one of these early style P-Basses. Pickup isn't as hot as a regular P Bass pickup and is a little brighter, but it has a good sound. Overall, a good feeling bass even compared to American Fenders I have.
