Cruising around the Fender site and stumbled across this. It definitely reminds me of some projects I've seen here on TB. Looks like it's probably gonna run $300 street. What do you think?

I'm kinda liking that idea.

I hesitate to call it a "new" idea from Fender/Squier but it's nice to see them try something other than the continuation of the P or J mold. Of the two of these models I would be most interested in the two pick up version simply because of tonal variety. Still there is something appealing about the single pick up version for it's 1-2-3 go kind of mindset. Just get up and play.

I like these basses from first glance.

I wonder about neck dive though - probably nothing a good strap wouldn't fix, but the short upper horn would affect balance to some extent.

Using the guitar body....hmmmmmm

Using a blade selecotr on the humbucker equipped model, so you can't blend pickups....hmmmmm....

Both models look cool. I too worry about the neck dive. I had tele-bodied MIJ bass for a while. It was short scale and had horrible neck dive. Sent it right back to the shop I bought it from...

it's somewhat oversized a bit..

kudos to squier on venturing on this design.. much like the 51' back then

They really screwed up by making the neck EVEN BIGGER than the current full-scale offerings!

How do you mean bigger?

If you mean the nut width, just because it's not J-bass sized, I wouldn't call that a screw up. Some of us do prefer the wider neck.

Oh, the nut width. I think that would work well on a 32" scale neck actually.
