Thanks. My first question is about amplifiers. There is some debate about whether using a bass on a guitar amp can damage the amp. I am proposing to do this at home and at mainly acoustic jam session. Does the community have any views on this?

If you are very, VERY, careful, you can usually get away with playing a bass through a guitar amp at LOW volumes.

Just listen carefully to the speaker. It will tell you when it's struggling.

yes. but as twofingers suggested: playing at ultra-low volumes you should be ok (e.g., for practicing). if you're going to jam with friends = a real bass amp is your friend! welcome aboard and good luck!
