Double Bass new to double bass..Help please

I hope you did some research on those olivs. I'd suggest getting an Evah D and G too as backups. The olivs are beautiful strings but depending on where you are they have MAJOR tuning issues (@SamuelHarris wanna comment?). They will go out of tune in the middle of a song for some and they are really fragile (I had the windings on a D and G come undone after a week of having them on my bass).

Also before you instal them you'll have to bring your bass to a luither to get them fitted (open up the string slots on your Bridge and Nut). an Oliv G is about the Size of your Spiro D and the Oliv D about the size of your A. They won't fit in your current "string slots" and if you don't get them fitted you will defiantly put the string at risk of breaking or not staying in tune.

thanks...yes ...they recommended that combination of strings!!...When i was on their (Pirastro)...they too made that comment of this combination of strings
