Double Bass New to double bass

Hey everyone,

So I'm new to double. Like as of this week, and I have a long background of electric so I'm moving faster than suspected.

But I have an issue, I took it out to play today and there was a buzz when I played every string and at every dynamic. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom of the bass and when I lifted it up off the ground it made the buzzing sound again.

So please let me know what happened I'm so upset about this. It's keeping me from progressing and I need to get back on it ASAP.

Loose end-pin?

Loose endpin or more likely, the excess endpin in the bass is rattling. 3 of my basses have done that. I took a hacksaw to the shaft and removed about 8-10 inches. Problem solved.

You can test this by extending the endpin almost all the way out to see if it still does it.
