Saw some play in its life and neglect for many years. Took a bit to get it back into playing condition. But it is. Orig EMG's and all other parts at least. Story goes its was a wall hanger for decades. Weird because it saw alot of play obviously. Cleaned fingerboard and polishing frets it was clear whoever originally owned this played the whole neck not just root notes. That jazz PU has the divots too.

OMG what a beauty! that is a very rare and special bass. So unusual to see Warwicks in solid paint. Would sound glorious!
I hope you post it in the Warwick group too. Lots of us will be happy to see it there. 80’s and 90’s were the best decades for those. They feel more hand crafted because they didn’t have the cnc tech they have now.

Beautiful bass! I was not aware the Warwick designed 2 piece bridge came into production as early as 1985. The earliest example I've ever seen was a 1988 model. Very fascinating.

Well I was told its 1985 but I cannot confirm because the serial is illegible paint filled enough I cannot read it. One way truss, original EMGS, that all pointed to '85 too for me but I could be wrong. Here is the serial. No cant get a better picture as it looks just like that in person
Buying was bit of gamble as neck had way to much relief and no room to tighten. I've build many guitars in my time so I know how to fix many issues. I didn't know exactly what the problems were until I got into it. However with a little love, that truss now works exactly as it should and has held stable.

I'm usually not a fan of gold hardware, but that is one beautiful bass. Someone loved the hell out of that before you got it.
Pretty typical for solid finish Warwick basses from the early years to have illegible serial numbers. It is more than likely an ‘88 though as noted earlier, the two piece bridge did not come in until 1988, I also believe an 85 would have a paddle headstock and the tuners would not be slanted back. Having said all that, it doesn’t detract from the bass at all for me. I love this period of Warwick’s and have an 88 and an 89 myself.
You’re right. Looks like ‘87 is the transition year from the Schaller to the 2 piece. Either way, cool bass and always glad to see appreciation for the older Warwicks.
Not just appreciation, this one has become my go-to.
