Hello bass people. Years ago (8+) I had a Fender J bass and loved playing, but life got busy and I had to give it up for a while. Over the past few years, I keep thinking about getting into bass playing again but I always stop myself. Lately I find myself needing ways to get away from the craziness of the world, and music used to do that for me...so I think perhaps its time to return to the bass.

Another jazz was at the top of my list, but I went to the classifieds here and am going to get an Ibanez SG SR500. I figure its ok try something different while I get my basic skills back, since I'm not searching for a particular tone or anything. If I find life allows me to keep at playing, I almost certainly will buy another Fender in the future.
