Newb w/Club Bass

Hi all,

6 string guitar guy who's moving into the bass world. I just ordered a Hofner Ignition Club Bass from Sweetwater. Had to take advantage of the sale price of $250! But there's no case with it. Though I won't need one immediately, I have a full scale bass gig bag now from a Samick bargain CL buy. But I'll want one at some point. I've been snooping on TB threads for info on Club Bass cases. One bassist suggested a normal LP case may work or maybe a baritone case. Does anyone know the actual length of the Club Bass to determine if it will fit in a normal case or gig bag? Can't wait for the new bass to arrive next week. I've been alerted that Hofner doesn't produce the solid black version anymore, so I'm getting the brand new translucent black. The pics Sweetwater sent look great!

Cheers! Just picked up a club ignition from sweetwater last week for the same price you got, great deal on a really great bass. Love it.

Bass is 43" long and 13" at the widest point on the body. I've heard that some les paul cases fit, some don't. The problem is the club is a bit thicker and has a higher bridge than a les paul and some cases won't close all the way as a result.

I ordered the Hofner case for it. Nice case.

Thanks for the info. Mine's supposed to arrive Tuesday. Can't wait. I've got a bass gig bag I can use until I find a decent case but I'm mostly going to have it here at home. I'm curious if you got the translucent black model.

I got a sunburst. I didn't see transparent black as an option on sweetwater's site. Looks sweet though!

has anyone seen a Left handed hofner Ingition club bass for sale? I don't think they manufacture them any longer. I'm in the market to purchase a violin bass from a local dealer. the sound is incredible for it to be a low end bass.

Newbe from Houston, Texas. Just started playing bass less than a year ago at the ripe old age of 54. I'ts been taking a long time for this old man to asorbe all this new information. I'm even having trouble navagating on this site ! LOL!!!
