Next bass

I'm considering a new bass and want to know your good and bad experiences with these basses. Thx

I play Blues, Hard Rock, Funk, Jazz... So I want a versatile bass. So the StingRay I m only considering b/c of the quality construction.

Can't go wrong with a Ray. Just be ready to keep fairly new strings on her.

Love the Jazz (assuming that's the MIA). Like the the G&L and Stingray a lot, no experience with the Yamaha. The jazz is the most comfortable and sounds the best to me. When I think bass, I think Jazz. The Stingray sounds like a Stingray. It's a great sound, more modern. It plays more like a P bass. The G&L is the more modern sound, and the most versatile. It also plays like a P, but possibly a bit thinner at the nut, but I'm not exactly sure on that. Often thought about checking out the Yamaha, but haven't yet. I don't think I would personally like that mudbucker by the neck. Good luck picking one. I'll have one of each.

Of these i have a jazz (not a new MIA but a 75 reissue) and a Stingray. The jazz is a 4 and the SR is a 5er. Of these i prefer the jazz, i just love it for its versatility. For really loud live work the SR has a great 'bite' though

I vote G&L 2000.... i've a G&L 2500 and I'd never heard of a most versatile bass! Even the fifth string play right!

I love the feel, look and the growl of the MM. Very high quality like the G&L, but I like the MM neck much better.

I voted for the L2000 because that'll probably be my next bass if something else doesn't strike my fancy :-D I figure that Leo finally perfected what he was trying to make all along. Consider that this is what he wound up making after coming up with the StingRay!

I haven't experienced ANY issues with any of the G&Ls that I've played or owned. I don't have an L2000 so I can't comment directly to that, but it kinda sounds like nonsense to me, based on the incredible build quality of G&Ls. Could it be the Tribute series? I understand that they're pretty awesome too, but they are built in an outside factory (meaning that G&L has less oversight directly).

The Attitude rocks if you've got a bi-amp rig to go with it and you're not planning on doing a great deal of slap.

Do the MMs and G&Ls cost about the same? I've never seen a G&L in person.
