NFL: "Rest vs. Rust" theories

he's always been a hack.. just an overachieving one.

Ok, so all those wins, the multiple league MVPs, all the passing records he holds, and all the consecutive division championships (when's the last time the AFC South WASN'T won by the Colts?!) are a fluke? The fact that his O.C. calls formations and allows Manning to call his own plays @ the line are attributed to his lack of talent and understanding of what opposing defenses are trying to do?

Last year.

I never said he wasn't talented, or even that he wasn't good. I said he was a hack. Friendly jab at a QB I love to hate.

Here are several of my reasons:

1) I always hate teams that are too good for too long. Aikman era Cowboys, Jordan era Bulls, Brady Pats, Elway's SB runs, Favre's Pack, the yankees and Red Sox of recent years, etc. The Colts are the epitome of this feeling of irritation, because they're in my team's division, and I dislike the QB. The fact that he plays for a dominant team is reason one why I dislike him.

2) He plays for a division rival which has a very lopsided franchise record against my team.

3) He's got a really dopey face which bothers me (not as bad as his brother's), and his acting is poor. The fact that he and Eli are both sellouts who plaster their faces in EVERY commercial on TV, forcing me to observe their faces and poor acting bugs the snot out of me.

4) I hate that when I play against the Colts in Madden, no matter what is happening, they always make Manning take 24.9 seconds to snap the ball.

5) I dislike gunslinger teams. Knock down, drag out, teeth shattering, bone crunching, pounding out the yardage run teams are my dig. The steelers, Ravens, Jaguars, Titans, etc... these are the games that tickle my fancy. Brady, Favre, Manning(s), Sanchez, Rivers, Brees, Ryan, Romo, et al... these are the QBs who annoy me.

6) He has to wear a horseshoe on his helmet for luck.

7) His voice is too nasal for my liking.

8) He has bad teeth.

9) He drives a girly car (speculation).

10) He has bad hair (hell, all QBs have bad hair outside of Marino).

These are a few of my reasons.

I just hope he chokes in Indy next week. I'd adore a SB without one of the perennial teams in the big game. Saints/Vikings VS Jets is yummy to me, though ideally, the Saints and Clots would both be 18-0 in time for the SB for the most badassed reckoning of power in NFL history.

But they're not, so I hope they lose.

ok, well not literally, but the colts throwing that game to the jets is what put them in the playoffs, so if the jets then turn around and knock the colts out of the playoffs... well .. what would you think of polian/caldwell's wise decision then?

It won't change my position that Polian/Caldwell's decision was the right call. If the Colts can't beat the Jets the they are not the best team and shouldn't be in the SB. Simple as that.

And he looks funny too. Almost as goofy as his brother.
I love'ya man. :D

You completely missed the point.

I got it and it was funny as hell! :D
