Hi Bass Friends,
Here is a fascinating 4-string that I kind of fell in love with quickly, but I cannot justify keeping numerous basses if I'd like to stay married, which I would.
Ebony fretboard lovers will rejoice when playing this neck. It's super comfortable, and the ebony board extends out a good bit, which seems to be an older Warmoth design. The pickups are unmarked and I was told that they are Peter Florance pickups. They sound very clean and clear with relatively low output, so you'll want to match it with a decent amp. It has stainless steel frets, 34" scale, and a real bone nut. I have to make sure, but I think it weighs 9.8 lbs. There are no screw holes for the pickguard, it just magically sits in place without movement when playing or can be slipped off if you prefer the "nudie" look of wood. I was told that the body is alder but, when I took it to my tech, he pointed out that the body might actually be birdseye maple. Someone did a bad job of oiling/finishing it, but I've enjoyed the way it breathes. It's got the familiar V-V-T and gets a very clean tone, so it's a nice match for a bassy-sounding amp/cab which should even out the tone most pleasantly. It's a nice workhorse of a bass for someone who needs a solid, clear tone without putting pantyhose on their head and breaking into the nearest bank.
It's probably coming to you in a gig bag. I can always be tempted by bass-related stuff, so trades are possible, although the point of placing this ad is ultimately to have one fewer bass than I currently do. That being said, a trade for an amp/cab/combo might interest me more than another bass as I sit here tonight typing away with one eye shut and another halfway there, but tomorrow who knows?! Feel free to reach out and we'll chat more about this lovely instrument.
We can split the shipping price or I'll be happy to meet with you if you're very near (or you're willing to visit) Scranton, PA. Paypal (or maybe even Venmo) will be fine if a good old-fashioned in-person cash transaction is out of the question.
Wishing you all the bass tone of your dreams and thanks for perusing this post!
