Looks wise, I like the P bass' red finish best, but if I were buying one of those basses, I would be going with the Jazz bass.

Very very very important to consider that you might not like how one or more of those basses 'sound' or 'play' regardless of what people here prefer looks wise.

"TO ME" sound and playability is vastly more important than the looks.

Looks wise, probably the Jag. But for function, I prefer the P or the J.

Purely based on looks, it's the J in my opinion.
Simple, yet elegant.
Nothing wrong with a P, of course, just not my fave.
Never had much love for the other two.

regarding the jag, I was going to say something to it's defense, but I have to agree that it does look busy. What I was going to say was something about how it's actually very simple, but then I realized that since they basically just copied the pots and switches from the jag guitar (although I assume the guitar's lo-cut switch does something else on the bass), the jag bass is what? the first bass to feature separate rhythm and lead circuits?

*edit: ok, I did my homework. apparently it's an active/passive switch instead of a rhythm/lead switch on the bass..

Out of these pictures, the Jaguar, but just barely as it's red. A non-red Jazz with blocks would look much better than any of these.
