I know a lot of death metal fans hate these guys for crimes against genre, but Nick Bassett--I just now realized you can't even spell his name without bass--brings some really beautiful fills and counter-melodies to their music.
I like all kinds of noisy music but was never part of a movement or scene. Personally, I find the combination of s/creaming, angry vocals and joyous major key resolutions hugely compelling.
