Nick Campbell's Musicmaster strings?

I'm geeking out on Nick Campbell's Musicmaster tone, and wondering what strings he uses on that bass. There's been a few threads over the years about his tone but the focus is usually on the bass rather than the strings. In the Wolfpeck video he almost definitely uses Chromes, but in the video below I'm not sure - looks and sounds like rounds to me. I know he is on the LaBella artist page, so possibly LaBella short scale nickel rounds, but I'm wondering if anyone can identify these.

I think he mentions in his interview on SBL with Ian that he keeps rounds on that bass because he doesn't like how flats sound on it. He doesn't mention the brand though.

Yes, you're right - thanks for posting that! I remember watching that vid when it came out, I must have missed his comment about the strings. It's interesting he mentions he found flats too dark on that bass, I'm not sure if that's my impression of Chromes on my Musicmaster / Jazz but I definitely prefer the overall tone on the video above to the Wolfpeck cover he posted (lots of other things at play there but there is an overall tonal difference there for sure). I can't tell from the video whether it's nickels or steels, but I'm going to guess he's either using LaBella nickels or Deep Talking rounds, either way I'll definitely be trying rounds on my Musicmaster / Jazz next.

Try GHS Balanced Nickel short scale strings. I have them on my travel 30" bass. They do it all. See my other posts where I wax poetic on all their positive attributes.
