I tried to search this but here is my Q. How do you balance your stage rig with FOH without getting caught in the wash between the two signals.?? I felt a little funny last night, telling the sound guy I would rather not DI through the FOH mix.- (First time playing with a house PA)
It turned out OK cause none of us except the kick ended up miked.
Our band plays at a level that is so sweet and we normally use only vocals through the PA- like the old days. Our guitars use those little Fender Pro Jr.s the size of a breadbox.

Our old band used to play so loud, I needed ear protection and I could hardly hear myself using a GK 2000RB and P1000 cab. Then they wanted to DI and that made me cringe cause I would play a note and it would be coming out of my amp and then the PA with a time delay (it seemed). It was awful.

the foh guy should be able to delay the foh signal slightly to match your amp if he has a decent enough board. otherwise you could keep your volume down so it doesn't interfere with the pa.

I am running an ABM 500 or 800RB into a Henry 8x8. I usually run them about half way so I am not real loud. Good mix from the stage.
Have you experienced that problem?

If you make sure that your stage amp is hitting your ears properly, especially with enough mids and highs, the minor delay from the FOH won't be as much of an issue.
What I do is stand where I can really hear and feel the kick drum, then aim my rig so I can hear it really well, too.

Still--if you're in a band you're going to have to get used to the FOH messing with your stage sound and vice-versa.
I've been running sound for over 20 years and only had maybe 3 systems that allowed me to delay the mains, and they were at 100,000+ watt outdoor concerts. It's rare in clubs, in my experience.
Just accept the fact that you HAVE TO play well when the sound is out of your comfort zone.
Otherwise, you might as well quit right now.

once in a while. i've had my amp sound phase itself out by subs that are too loud or side fills that converge with my amp sound in just the wrong spot. but i'm fortunate that most of my gigs have good pa so they can work out the delay if they have to.

Although I have only ever gigged in small clubs and pubs I have only ever needed to put vocals and kick through pa. All of our guitar amps are quite gutsy though.
