No More Fender 7350m?

Mock as you may, I really like the Fender 7350m Stainless Steel Roundwounds.

Reasonably priced, hard wearing and long lived, though it looks as though they're no longer available. Good job I have a few sets kicking about, but I'm going to have to do some research for when they run out.

Looks like they have been discontinued. Too bad, because I thought they were good strings.

D'addario Pro Steels are a good alternative, as are DR stainless lo riders, and La Bella stainless.

Actually looking at Rotosound RS66LF's. They're not quite as competitively priced as the 7350m's, but they're cheaper than most others in the UK (roughly £17.00 ~ $20.00-ish?).

I could go with the Warwick Red Label Stainless (£9.00 ~ $13.00-ish?), but used them before, and I'm not completely convinced. Might try them again & see.

Raise the budget to £20.00 (~$24.00-ish?), and that opens up a few more possibilities... Dunlop Bright Steels, Stadium Elites, Warwick Black Labels. Used Stadium Elites before, and they'd be my first choice in that range.

To put it into perspective, I was buying 7350m's for £13.50 (~$17.00-ish?), so I'd expect any replacement strings to last a bit longer. However, I am glad I have a reasonable stock of the Fender's! :D

I've heard really good things about the Stadium Elites? Several of my Brit bass heroes use them. Pete Trewavas, from Marillion and John Taylor immediately leap to mind.

I did hear a rumour somewhere on the t'interweb, that Fender strings were made by D'addario. How true this is, who knows (well, people outside of Fender & D'addario at least!). A set of Pro Steel EPS160 (45-105) are roughly £23.00 (~$26.00-ish?).

DR's & La Bella's are more expensive still.

Roto's & Stadium's seem as though they're the best bet so far, with the Warwick's coming in close behind.

I used to use Stadium Elites on my old 4003, so I know what they sound & feel like. IIRC, there were a number of high profile endorsers. Used to use Roto's as the default "go to", mainly as they were cheaper than most other brands, but also because they were good. Thing is, I don't recall how they wore / sounded after a while.

TBH, I keep away from Nickels as my fingers react to them, but I do prefer steels anyway.

Very nice sound! The video was posted in 2011; if Fender string production shifted to D'Addario in 2010, it seems plausible that this set of strings was either pre- or post-D'Addario. But alas, either way, no longer available. :-(

What were the Stadiums like if you dont me asking? Very difficult to get across the "pond".

From memory, they were great, nice feel, bright and long lasting.

At this point, it may be fair to say that I've only used a handful of different string brands (Roto's, Elites, EB Slinky, Warwick & Fender). Might have used a few others, but I can't recall them just now. My string choice has generally been driven by cost, though now it's also driven by longevity and that they need to be Stainless rounds (not a fan of flats or tapes).

Anyway, I've been really impressed with the Fender 7350m's, and slightly sad that they're no longer in production.

Just replaced 7350M strings on my Squire VM Jazz V yesterday with DR Black Beauty. Don't like them as much as the Fender 7350, I lost that special sound I had on that Jazz :(
Looking for new SS strings with some mids: .045-.130
Help please!!!!!

No problem with the budget, I just want the growl I had with the 7350 back :)
Does DR SS Lo Riders have a lot of mids like the 7350 (from what I read)?
Black Beauty are good strings, but not what I'm looking for that Jazz bass. Will but it in my Yamaha TRBX505.

Nothing helpful to add. Just a little shout-out to Fender for being worthless @*&^%#. These are the best bass strings I have ever used, so thanks, Fender, for of course discontinuing them.

Speaking of Fender and some of the dumbest things they've done in the past...

I heard a rumor just this past week Fender is planning to do away with their dealer network for their strings. If anyone wants to buy Fender-branded strings, they will have to get them directly from Fender.
