Noob preamp question

Let me rephrase, I only know 2 audio guys who I've worked with I trust who are excellent in their craft. The others, always, and I say always, leave the bass out of the mix even though they do a sound check. Here are their exact words: "I'm going to plug you into the board and you can use your amp as a monitor", Hell no, I'm using my amp as a bass amp which is what God intended.;)
That's a bit like you telling your Mom you're going to run really fast to avoid the rain instead of taking the umbrella, she insists on giving you the umbrella but you throw it away as soon as you get out the door.

From preamp to sound guys and back again! We've done a few gigs and we always have enough monitors. Usually the rythym guitarist and myself share one monitor with mostly bass and vocals as he has his huge amp and cab behind us next to my little 112. Luckily we get along really well and the two of us work with each other to get The best out of everything. The sound guy always goes with a very basic tone that just doesnt seem to cut through. Might have something to do with the lead guitarist and his need to tweak his sound for almost everysong.

I'm really easy when it comes to band stuff just want to keep everything together with a good tone and leave the premadonna b.s. to the lead guitarist.

Just a little side rant...
Lead guitarist has been writing all the music so has seen this as his band. Until about a 2 months ago when we all started bring origional songs we worked out. The whole band likes the new songs but lead guitarist has brought up that we are loosing "our" sound. He's also been on a farm for a month and half cause of the lockdown and surprisingly we have accomplished more since hes been gone than the whole of last year! Thanks I'm done now☺

I’m a relative newcomer to Tech 21 products, but I’m extremely happy with the tones I’m getting from my GED-2112 preamp. I’m playing hard rock and I’m amazed at how much better I can hear myself with the band when I dial in some grit.

Prior to buying my GED, I had used a straight, clean tone for decades. That little bit of tube emulation/grit has been a real eye opener for me.

Ooh I'm starting to get really excited. Been checking out new and used online as I'm in Africa so some places don't ship to Namibia. 3rd world problems
