so to record guitars on my computer i should get delta 44 and then i'm good to go?

do yourself a favor and save up til you can get the omnistudio. the omni itself is only a front end for the delta44 card, but if you get the "omnistudio" it comes with a front end and a card. this will give you more inputs, plus two mic preamps, phantom power, two headphones out with adjustable volume, adjustable gain for the mics..... check it out online. it IS a bit more expensive, but i have the delta44 and am kicking myself for not getting the omnistudio.

all the E mu cards (except possibly the 0404) and most of the M-Audio have 1/4 inch.
