Noob question.

Hey, I am running a 300 watt @4ohm head into 2 8ohm cabs. I was just wondering if the full 300 is being run into each cab or if it is splitting the wattage between the two cabs? Thanks for the help.

So since the cabs are 350 continuous I can move up to a more powerful head since the cabs are only getting essentially 150 each?

Sure, but power output and handling specs are a guide only. More knowledgeable members can get technical about it, but basically just listen for complaints from the speakers and act accordingly.

Having said that, yes I would definitely be using a higher wattage amp.

You'd be fine with a head that puts out up to 700 watts @ 4 ohms. That doesn't mean that's the best sounding option, but you shouldn't see any smoke.
