Noob Record Question :

I'm gonna get flamed here , but wth .

I wanna connect my bass to my PC and try getting some stuff recorded . I am not worried much about the quality , but just intermediate enough will do (As long as it doesnt sound like I was performing next to a US. Air base .) . How will I go about it ?? I tried connecting the Headphone out of the Amp to the line In as well as the Mic in of the Soundboard of the Coumputer , and it doesnt seem to work . Is there something else i need to go through ?? And my amp is this crappy 15 w no name amp , so it doesnt have any line out or anything , it just has a Jack In for the Bass and a Headphone out for the......Headphones i guess.......

Any solution is appreciated .

Headphone outputs are generally in stereo. You might be having a problem with using mono cables/adapters/etc. Have you tried plugging your bass directly into your soundcard, bypassing the amp?

do you have a soundcard? a cheap preamp would work very well if you want to record something in a nicer quality than a "no name amp", its also quite possible that when you go to record your input isnt selected
