Nordstrand NP5 for Carvin PB5?

Anyone install a Nordstrand NP5 into a Carbin PB5? I generally like the tone of the stock Carvin pickup, but it's a bit modern. I have Nordstrands in my Geddy Jazz and love them, wondering if the NP5 would help the PB5 get a less modern tone? Also, the dimensions of the Carvin compared to the Nordstrands, is it a direct replacement?

Carvin dimensions: " 12.3K ohms - 2.6" long x 1.1" wide x .68" tall (each coil)"
Nordstrand: ???

I found the NP5 much to modern sounding for me.
Curtis Novak wound me a great vintage sounding P5 pick up.
