Details

Early Nordstrand custom singlecut. Said to be the first SC4 made by Carey. Originally fretless, converted to fretted by Ray Rogers of RBasses.
The deets:

Spalted horse chestnut top and back.
*Alder core.
*3 piece maple neck.
*Pink ivory fingerboard and matching pickup covers.
*Nordstrand pickups.
*Active/passive tone control.
*Active/passive Switch.
*Mute switch.

Very light and amazing tone. Never played in years. Shipping prob about $100 due to insurance value.

This is my old bass. I had Carey build it...that is a passive tone knob I had Carey add. Although this was originally a fretless with a ridiculously rare pink ivory board that has been fretted, but i can ASSURE YOU this is 100% a killer bass!
I want it, but am bass rich at the moment. Someone...please buy this. Worth every penny. This was Carey's absolutely first singlecut bass.

I once owned this bass (2006-2007). It was pretty cool. Very comfortable.

What kind of finish does this bass have ?
Oil finish? Gloss finish ? Some other kind of mate finish that does not require oiling or waxing the bass once a month ? Any idea ?

I can tell you as the guy who had it built, it has a very jazz bazz-feeling neck. 1.5 and very rounded edges, so it doesnfeel huge in the gand. IIRC, it was a relatively flat radius...maybe 16" then, however it has been fretted (grr...) But...a GREAT neck!
