I've stopped playing guitar/bass for quite a few years now, and stopped paying attention to bass guitars for even longer than that. My last post here seems to be from 2011. I gave my Squier P Bass Special (as well as electric guitar and amplifiers) to my younger cousin on an "indefinite loan" since I wasn't playing them and concentrated on other things.
Lately I've felt the urge to get back into playing bass and have been thinking of getting the Jackson JS3 Spectra (in Silverburst) once it comes back in stock. I've really missed looking at basses and guitars and wanting them all.
Some random observations after being back for so long: Is it just me or are bass guitars more expensive than they used to be? Also it seems the "cheap bass" body wood of choice has changed from Agathis to Poplar. Really interesting.
Edit: Adding on to my remark about wood, it seems that Alder and Mahogany basses and Indian Rosewood fretboards are really uncommon compared to many years ago. Anyone know why that is?
